“Well done on competing in the 27th Dublin 5 mile Classic last Sunday 15th May. On behalf of Sportsworld Running Club, I would like thank all the participants who took part; it was another fantastic success, like previous years.
The gods were with runners + walkers and spectators, and just about kept the rain away during the Race.
Next year will be even Bigger, Brighter & Better; we will be 28 years old! So, time to keep up the pace, raise the training & aim for your PB on our course. To help get you there on time, come join us at Sportsworld Running Club. No matter what your level, ability or target, we will look after you. Newcomers are always welcome. For more information, click on contact link on our home page.
Very sincere thanks to all Sportsworld members who arrived bright and early full of enthusiasm to help make this a special day. 27 years on and another great success so thanks again to one and all look forward to seeing you all again for the big 28th celebration next year.

Hi, I have been crossing the Irish Sea from my home in Llandudno North Wales on this Sunday for the past 12 years to run the Dublin Classic 5. I do this because it is one of my favourite races. Its unique-where else is there tea and sandwiches after the race?
Last year there were some unwelcome changes. I waited till this year in case they were a one off. They were not: 1. No changing facilities-its pretty bad having to change in the school toilet-in my case having travelled on the overnight ferry from Holyhead. 2. The highlight of your old course for me was the run alongside the Dodder-any chance of that coming back? 3. Where is the Dublin Classic 5 T shirt? I run the London/Galway/Dublin and New York Marathon each year-yet my favourite T shirt was always yours. I am aware there is a tiny bit of a recession but you could always sell them? Please accept this not as a whinge but constructive crtitism of one of my favourite events. It is now 03.45 I am not long home after the crossing back to Holyhead. Best Wishes Dr J J Green
Tony,
Thanks for a great race. Excellently organised ! Looking forward to next year
Thanks Fearghal,
Glad you ran well and enjoyed it. See you next year.
Hi JJ,
Thanks for the feedback. All is welcome as we want to make the race as enjoyable for everyone as possible.
l’m going to look into the reason for the changing area being blocked off and make sure there are facilities next year for both mens and womens sections. To keep the race entry fee relatively low and still donate to charity the decision was made not to have a race souvenir. Printing t-shirts in small numbers is expensive and nowadays unless it’s a technical (non cotton) t-shirt research suggests most people dont want it.
The reason for the course change is Garda restrictions. Unfortunately the old course cause too much traffic disruptions. I understand your disappointed here, many people prefer the old course.
Thanks for the constructive feedback. It will be passed onto the race committee and taken on board next year.
Well organised again lads and lassies!!
Sign me up for next year!
Thanks John. See ya next year:)
